Here, we would like to share feedback from a customer who uses the AW-1 Water Activity Meter.

Q1. What initially sparked your interest in this product?
A1. We participated in an online demonstration of the AW-1. After seeing the actual product during the demonstration, we decided to introduce it.
Q2. What was the purpose of introducing this product, and how do you use it?
A2. We mainly use the AW-1 to adjust water activity for microbial control in product development and when proposing formulations to our customers. We measure approximately two to three samples per day.
Q3. What types of samples do you measure?
A3. We measure a wide variety of food products, including seasoning liquids, Japanese confectionery, baked goods, and protein products.
Q4. What challenges or difficulties did you have before introducing this product?
A4. Previously, the development and quality control departments shared a single measuring instrument. However, we found it inconvenient because the instrument was large and did not allow temperature control. In addition, when both departments needed to use the instrument at the same time, we had to coordinate which department would use it first, which sometimes resulted in waiting times.
Currently, the quality control department continues to use the measuring instrument from another manufacturer that it had been using previously, while the development department uses the AW-1. We appreciate that the AW-1 is compact and easy to place in a constant-temperature bath, allowing us to perform measurements while controlling the temperature.
Q5. What was the main reason you chose this product?
A5. The price was the main deciding factor. The fact that it can be purchased for around JPY 100,000 was a significant advantage. We also find its compact size and ease of placement in a constant-temperature bath to be beneficial in our actual working environment.

We appreciate that the AW-1 can display measurement results to three decimal places. Even when a measured value is close to a reference value or other critical threshold, it is convenient to be able to check the value in greater detail.
We hope that the AW-1 will continue to be available at its current price range in the future.
