SIBATA SCIENTIFIC TECHNOLOGY LTD. makes the Carbon Neutral Declaration in order to protect a green earth filled with clean air and water, and to create a sustainable society where future generations can live in peace. We will act so that the world in the year 2121, the 200th anniversary of SIBATA’s founding, will be a wonderful planet filled with clean air and water.

We will take the following measures.

Manufacturing and Logistics
1. We will phase out paper instruction manuals and reduce paper consumption through electronic manuals and digital catalogs.
2. We will emphasize manual assembly production lines that do not emit CO2.
3. We will improve logistics efficiency to reduce CO2 emissions.

Research and Development
4. We will provide measurement, analysis, testing, and manufacturing equipment required for research and development, quality control, and production, which are essential to achieving carbon neutrality.
5. We will contribute to environmental conservation by working to realize low-power consumption products that reduce CO2 emissions through technological development.
6. Based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), we will quantitatively assess the environmental impact and work to reduce the environmental impact of our products and services.
7. We will contribute to the realization of a recycling-oriented society by developing technologies that contribute to resource recycling.

Facilities and Activities
8. We will reduce CO2 emissions by switching to LED lighting in our offices and replacing old existing facilities in stages.
9. We will curb CO2 emissions by promoting the introduction of solar power generation systems and hybrid vehicles.
10. We will reduce CO2 emissions from incineration through collection and reuse of wooden pallets.
11. We will reduce CO2 emissions through collection and recycling of PP band and stretch film.
12. We will reduce the use of disposable plastics and cherish and use glass.
13. We will reduce paper consumption by promoting the use of web-based order and supply system and paperless faxes through our DX strategy.
14. We will reduce CO2 emissions from travel by utilizing telework and online meetings.

Employee Awareness
15. All employees will actively engage in various environmental activities and projects with the aim of becoming a company that contributes to the environment.

Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

2021: Actual CO2 emissions: 431 t-CO2

1. 2030: Deadline for achieving SDG targets
Target by 2030: 300 t-CO2
We will increase the introduction of renewable energy sources and aim to improve the efficiency of energy use.

2. 2050: Achieve carbon neutrality
We aim to achieve a state where CO2 emissions and absorption by nature are plus or minus zero.

3. 2121: 200th anniversary of the company’s founding
We aim to create a wonderful planet filled with clean air and water.
