In food processing sites, use of glass products may be prohibited in order to prevent any broken glass pieces from getting mixed in foods. The AQ-202P AQUAB handy water quality meter uses a sample cell made of PET instead of glass.

Sterile water such as a sodium hypochlorite solution and hypochlorous acid water (acidic electrolyzed water, etc.) are used in wide fields such as hygienic control of various types of foods including eggs and vegetables, towels and other items in hairdressing salons and barbers, and medical equipment as well as for the prevention of infection with diseases. To maintain a sufficient antiseptic effect, you must confirm that the residual chlorine concentration is surely maintained at a certain level. The DPD method, usually used as the method to measure residual chlorine concentration, has a characteristic that it cannot measure high-concentration residual chlorine.
The AQ-202P uses the iodine method and can measure high-concentration total residual chlorine up to 300 mg/L. Additionally, it uses a sample cell made of PET instead of glass so it can be used in food processing sites where use of glass products is prohibited.
